Advent Sermon Series

During Advent, the Church slows down to remember and rejoice in the coming of Christ —  both His first coming in Bethlehem and His promised return in glory. For centuries, the Church has sung the story of Jesus through hymns that carry deep theology and rich worship. In this series, we will explore four beloved Christmas hymns, discovering how each one proclaims a different facet of the gospel story. Our prayer is that this series (and these songs) will help us to see the wonder of Christ who brings hope, peace, joy, and love.

11/30/25    The First Noel - Hope
12/7/25    Hark! The Herald Angel Sing - Peace
12/15/25    Joy to the World - Joy
12/21/25    O Holy Night - Love

Recommended Advent Resources

  • Kids: This year we are recommending  “The King is Coming” Advent blocks again! Starting with Adam and Eve, the book walks you through key characters in the Bible and points out how God’s faithfulness and promises extend to every generation. Build your hope and anticipation for the coming of Jesus as you journey toward Christmas. You can purchase one HERE.
  • Youth and Adults:  As we enter the Advent season, we invite you to consider joining with the youth of our church to walk through the Jesse Tree Advent Devotional. These daily devotions follow the Jesse Tree, which is a way of journeying through Advent that traces the lineage of Jesus. The Jesse Tree refers to an image in Isaiah 11, in which Jesus is compared to a shoot sprouting from the stump of the tree of his ancestor Jesse. It reminds us that the coming of Jesus was long prophesied, and that in the stories of his ancestors, we can hear echoes of his own life, death, and resurrection. This advent devotional begins November 27th and you can access it digitally HERE. We will have a few printed copies ready for pick up November 23rd as well. Redeemer Youth, we will have a printed copy for each of you ready to pick up at YGC on November 23rd!

Hymns of Hope, vol. 2: Redeemer Advent EP

The worship team will release a four-song EP that corresponds with each of the hymns featured in the upcoming Advent sermon series, “Hymns of Hope, Vol. 2.” During the process, we used the Redeemer Studio for arranging and tracking, with Kyler Chavez leading the production efforts. The EP includes an original version of “Joy to the World” as well as original arrangements of “The First Noel,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and “O Holy Night.” We hope these songs will encourage our church as we celebrate the Advent season on Sundays and throughout December.
The EP will release on all streaming platforms on Friday, November 28th, but be sure to Pre-Save it on your preferred streaming platform HERE.
