James 4:1-12

This week's memory verse is James 4:7.
Few books in the New Testament are better known or more often quoted than James, and it has become one of the most popular New Testament books in the church.
James’ style and teaching resemble the style and teaching of Jesus. It’s punchy, practical, and full of imagery. However, it is not always easy to receive. James calls us to put our faith into action. 59 of the 108 verses in James are commands. James’ letter calls us to obedience. Obedience is good. Genuine faith acts. James wants us to see that we haven’t truly learned the way of Jesus until we are living it – doers of God’s word fueled by God’s grace.
