Jesus’ Sacrifice is Once and For All
The Old Testimate gives us imagery and shadows that help us understand God’s redemptive plan. We are now living in a time when the Law and its sacrificial system have been fulfilled in the work of Jesus Christ. The old sacrificial system served its purpose for a time but it was unable to truly deal with our sins. Year after year sacrifices served as a reminder of the sins of the people but they proved impotent in dealing with human sin. In contrast to this year after year system that never fully deals with the sin problem, the crucifixion of Jesus was a once for all time sacrifice for sins that is completely sufficient to atone for human sin. This means that when we put our faith in the finished work of Christ, we receive a once and for all forgiveness of sins. All of our sin, past, present, and future was atoned by the sacrificial death of Jesus.
